From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative including angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might seem out of place, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—used the foes for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the team reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.

According to episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight players to round up the Questers and Strategists tables.
