Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the region, bringing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Locals reported giant hailstones as large as 7cm in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore electricity service throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units deployed to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, around one thousand residents in the southern state also faced energy failures after the capital city experienced its wettest day in 18 months.
Emergency response teams responded to 598 calls for help across the area, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.
